I wish I could give this company no stars. It is so incredibly obvious that every single ""good"" review is fake. Every profile that gave this company more than one start, started their profile that same day. I started my profile today too, but I want to rip this company to shreds based on the threats and phone calls I have received today.
Under no circumstances would I EVER refer these people to a friend. THEY CALLED MY OFFICE TO TELL MY SUPERVISOR I WASN'T DOING MY JOB, but rather badgering their company, on my company's dime.
Fortunately, I know some great lawyers and they are drafting a notice claiming defamation and citing that telephone call, as well as the threat from Jon Lauren via email saying ""As for (name redacted) - badgering a company from her work is never appropriate. I can assure you her boss would feel the same way - let's not let this rise to that level.""
But let's start at the beginning. My friend and I bought a Living Social deal from what we thought was a legitimate company. We quickly found out it was not. Our dating event was two days ago, Monday night in Seattle. The restaurant was great. We were promised mini-makeovers and appetizers, as the website states on all of it events pages. No more than 15 minutes before the event, we were told the makeup artist was sick. We are bright girls, and brought make up just in case for a situation like this. No worries, on to the dating.
The evening ended exactly two hours later without us meeting everyone and without ever serving us a single morsel or apologizing for not doing so. We found other non-speed daters to enjoy our company and forgot about it.
We had already signed up for another event, as we emailed back to say yes, we would like makeover if they are happening, but we are disappointed with the service and how it has misrepresented itself on it's website. More as feedback and a few questions than anything else.
Within minutes, a woman named Tina Allman emailed me back saying we were both (my friend and I) banned from their events and that they were offended by my email. They also told us to contact Living Social for a refund.
Over the span of four hours, they continually called, asking us to call the venue to confirm there were apps (the venue confirmed there were never any appetizers ordered by the company that evening). After telling Tina that we called, she then scolded us via telephone for being ""too investigative."" We pointed her to the email in which she suggested we call, and she hung up on me after not letting me finish. Tina also asked ""are you saying the venue is lying?"" It threw up huge bright red flags on my end for anyone heading up a service company to be so defensive and downright mean to it's clients.
We have email after email explaining that we were disappointed with their service and trying to explain why. They told us we were abusive and harassing them at work (um...this is a work issue for you and you get paid to deal with clients that have questions). They proceeded to call my work and harass my receptionist saying that they didn't want to speak with me, but rather tell my company I was wasting their company dollar. All the while my friend was actually the one who was email from a completely different email account; and they were too dumb to realize it.
I couldn't believe how threatening they were. At one point, my friend and I told them we had questions and were emailing them before spreading information about what might just be a mis-communication. Tina told me I was threatening them by saying I was going to write a review about them.
Both my friend and I called Living Social, who was immediately apologetic, offered us both full refunds, as well as money towards our next Living Social purchase.
That was exactly what I expected from a normal business.
SpeedLAdating, SpeedSeattledating, all of the companies listed are run by the same minuscule team and are completely horrible business people.
