When you receive your contract from Jeremy read it carefully. It is the most one-sided contract I have ever read. It covers him fully, but offers no such protection for your rights and expectations as his customer.
If I hadn't been in a hurry to have this service performed because of a home equity loan I wanted, I would have continued my search to find somebody else to do the job.
You will also be asked to pay a large cash deposit up front and he will require the balance be paid when he completes the work but before the final lab test results have come in. They did come back showing the mold was gone and that, at least was some small comfort.
The problem was what was done in an effort to keep the mold from returning and how it affected the sump pump. I understand that a good seal will help keep moisture out of the air, but if that seal makes the sump pump inoperable, then a different solution must be sought.
Jeremy refuses to come find the solution and is questioning whether or not the sump pump was operable before he came. It worked fine but it cannot work the way he attached plastic and plastic foam to it.
If the work isn't satisfactory he will not come back to see what needs fixing. He will not call nor will you get a timely or courteous response by email. Rather than take any responsibility for your dissatisfaction of his work, he will suggest it's your fault.
He isn't the only mold specialist in the area and if you need this service I advise you to talk to multiple contractors and to choose wisely. My experience taught me that the first one to call may not to be the best one to use!
Jeremy may be a mold specialist, but I'd rate his customer service as JUST PLAIN MOLDY!
