I have been a regular at Gabacho's since I first ""discovered"" it when Cadillac's in Kemah was closed on a Monday. We each order our own stuffed jalapeno appetizer which is fantastic, stuffed with chicken and obviously home made.
The veracruz sauce is simply outstanding. It is a jalapeno cream sauce with spinach, crawfish and shrimp and complements the flank sauce for a truly memorable meal. On our last visit, we were with a friend and she ordered salmon with veracruz sauce and also raved about the quality and flavor.
This restaurant is owner operated and it shows in the service and quality. My wife and I have been here at least 25 times and Jose and or his wife have always been there.
We have also been there on nights when a singer accompanying himself on the guitar is there and this adds to the experience.
