Complimentary tap water? 12/17/2011

Is it legal for a restaurant not to have complimentary water? Well it seems that it may be legal to charge for tap water but with my research I found out that they are hard to find and not good business to charge for regular tap water. And what really pushes the cheese off my cracker is I always ask for complimentary water and they say nothing and charge for it without telling you they are going to. I suggest you bring your own and they can sit around and suck on it! Just like the rest of this towns restaurants the prices are among the highest in the area. I choose not to drink sodas or even tea due to my preference and try and eat right and I am being forced to pay for tap water or do without. The food is usually hot and good and that is true here as well. No complaints from me on this part and the kids there are doing a good job for their part of service. The problem lies with management to decide to charge for this and ripping extra money out of my pocket for the tap water that may cost them 1 cent if even that. Their justification is the cup cost money. I say get the cheap cups that cost very little not even a penny and charge what they charge is pretty sorry. I think I am being punished for not getting a coke or tea. I think they sat around and said by George if they won?t buy my sodas then lets charge them for our cheapest drink and that would be tap water?.. more
