I bought a used 2007 Town and Country and went to Ewald Chrysler in Oconomowoc for routine service. For the two years I had service there, I never left feeling good about the experience.
The last time I was there (which will be THE last), I forgot to mention an issue during the write-up and he got mad at me because he had already printed the sheet. I guess it was my fault for dropping off late on a Friday. The issue never did make onto the work order.
I approved the work order for $220 dollars and got a call that the repairs would be $900. When I asked her to explain what the repairs were for, she said she would have to call me back after talking to the tech. I instead went to get my van because they would be closing in an hour. I got there and told her I did not have time to do the repairs, I got the magic total for $220. I indicated I would not be paying $220 dollars for an oil-change, so she dropped off everything but the diagnostic (the info I had already given them in the hopes to save the rip-off $40 bucks they charge to plug the van into a computer) and the oil-change.
The brakes I has replaced previously have been squeaking since they were put on. When I pressed the service manager, he said if I had put on the ceramic pads, I would not have had the problem. I think a reputable dealership would not offer a pad that squeaks continuously and if they do, they should mention it before the work is done.
Finally I spoke to Eric Ewald who runs the dealership. I asked him to waive the diagnostic and we could just go our separate ways. He told me he does not pay customers go away and would not waive the charge. Well, I've gone away and won't return. Just makes me regret not paying a little more for the Toyota Sienna. Next time.
