If you need a special order, don't come here. We have been using Oak Mill Bakery for special occasions since our wedding 12 years ago. For my husband's 50th birthday, I ordered a specific cake, which I have ordered many times before. The day of the birthday, I went to pick up the cake and it was totally WRONG. What made things worse was the staff's screw you attitude - tried to blame me except the paper that the order was written on was what I wanted. I called the corporate office to complain and noone called back. Plus, the cake had to be prepaid since it was a special order and the gave me a hard time about refunding my money.
After 12 years, we will NEVER go back to Oak Mill. No customer service, horrible staff and can't execute a simple cake order when that is their business. Called Froggy's bakery in Highwood and they made the exact cake for me by the time I got there 45 minutes later and it was far better than any cake I have bought at Oak Mill. Plus they were professional and polite. They have gotten too big to be any good.
