Groupon fails to gain a customer 11/30/2011

I had bought a Groupon, thinking it would be a great opportunity to try out a different restaurant in town- $10 for $20 worth of food. It came down to the last day of the Groupon, and I still hadn't been able to get anyone to eat there with me, so I ordered $25 worth of food to carry out during my lunch hour. Upon reading the Groupon on my way there, the fine print stated that it was for ""dine in only"". Uh oh!! When I presented the server with my dilemma, she said that they were pretty strict with the rules, and that I would not be able to use the Groupon after all.\r \r I gave my Groupon to a couple who were dining in- I hope they let them use it!!\r \r I ordered tortilla chicken soup, Mimi's ribs, a pulled pork sandwich with Mimi's sauce, and sweet potato fries. The flavor of the soup and the ribs were good. The ribs were extremely fatty. The pulled pork sandwich did NOT have the Mimi's sauce (it tasted completely different than the rib sauce- I have no idea what kind it was, but I didn't like it at all). The sweet potato fries tasted slightly burned, and by the time I got to work to eat it, they were limp (steamed in the box?) and barely warm.\r \r A lot of my coworkers commented on the food that I brought in, so there was much discusssion about my experience. I sold the sandwich to a guy at work who claims he would eat anything- he said the pork was undercooked, and he was not thrilled with the taste of the sauce either (he had recommended the Mimi's sauce, so he knew what it should taste like, and that wasn't it).\r \r I hope to enjoy the rest of the ribs and soup for dinner tonite, but one thing is for sure... I'm not going back to Burgers & Beer. I think they got enough of my money, and gave me a pretty bad experience in return.\r \r I realize that it was my fault for not reading the fine print, but the food and the lack of willingness to compromise on the Groupon was something they did have control over... and they should have... IF they were interested in getting repeat business. more
