Worst Experience Ever 11/10/2011

I don't normally do this but after the experience I had I find it necessary to warm my fellow homeowners. Stay away and call someone else!! I called this firm to repair issues with my furnaces after the last storm. After they arrived and assessed the situation I was informed that a relay needed to be replaced on both furnaces and one furnace required a new Auto-fill and low water cutoff. The former thy could replace immediately and the former they would need to confirm the price. After replacing the relays I was informed the cost would be $750. As one furnace was operational and the other partial working I paid the fee just glad that my tenant and I had heat. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the relay described and documented were less then 20 dollar parts and additional components have been replaced. (Pending itemized documentation for the insurance company). After receiving a call from MCP regarding the additional repair estimate of 900 dollars I decided to get a second opinion. Good thing I did the final repairs (low water cutoff and auto-fill repair) came to 450 dollars and I confirmed there operation. When MCP returned as there install prime controller wasn't receiving a call from my thermostat. I was first informed that the replaced component hadn't been replaced and they were bypassed. As I started the heat upon my return home and verified they were functioning when I arrived home in the afternoon, imagine my surprise they were no longer working and the wiring had changed. The MCP tech was unable to communicate why the control head wasn't responding correctly to thermostat to a 10 yr veteran. Although he did inform me that the entire thing need to be rewired and he would be more then happy to fix it for a fee. I wish I had found this site prior to calling. Lessons learned I guess. more
