KENNELS INFESTED WITH TICKS...STAY AWAY 11/29/2011

We boarded our dog over Thanksgiving 2011 holiday for 3 days. After getting home from picking her up we noticed that she was infested with ticks. We have pulled 300+ off of her within 3 days. We have given her 4 baths and still can't get rid of them all. We finally called Richmond Animal Hospital to notify them of their infestation and asked for our dog to be dipped and treated for any infection due to all the bites. The vet was EXTREMELY rude, and took no responsibility. This is the ONLY vet clinic I know of that you are NOT allowed in the back with your animal. We asked to tour the facility to see where she was kenneled, and they wouldn’t allow it. Even when you get your regular vaccinations, you are not allowed in the room with your animal. How do we even know they are getting treated when you can't witness it. Please stay away. We have now spent 3 days treating our dog, and 3 days washing everything in our place to avoid outbreak in our home. I can't believe how rude the vet was when we notified them of their problem. Our dog was also extremely dehydrated when we picked her up. I'm in the process of reporting this to the state board. more
