This is a restaurant I take my out-of-town guests to, as it is consistently good food, quick, relatively inexpensive. So the place is not as glossy an atmosphere or ambiance as, say, Mai Village. But I found the food to be tasty with no MSG, and the service is family-friendly and conscientious. Their green-lipped mussels in black bean sauce is terrific - the mussels are fully cooked without being rubbery, still tender and flavorful, and their curry chicken soup is just the thing on a chilly day. The kids love the young coconut and the bubble teas, and I love the iced red tea. I have no hesitation in recommending Cheng Heng to anyone.
