We were road-tripping back from Ottawa and GPS'ed this place, and all we can say is WOW!!!!
The service was unparalleled and the food was to die for.
I now envy the townsfolk who are able to come here we don't have a place that good here in VA :(
They took our order over the phone, we ordered :
1 Mutton (goat) Briyani (rice) 2 aloo (potato) paratha (bread) {think a pitta stuffed with spiced potatoes} YUM YUM!!!!!
3 samosa - veggie.
The owner went out of his way to make sure our food was hot and ready when we pulled in. Most Indian places are cheap so-so food, that was made a day or two in advance.
Not here! It was fresh, spiced just right, and the owner even invested in warmer bags to keep things hot until they are picked up! In all my husbands years he has never seen an Indian place take that kind of care!
The owner threw in a curry bowl on top of it all for extra flavor! And said to ""just try it."" He was right it was the second best curry I have ever had, Hubby's mother's is still #1.
My hubby is Indian, I put the ""C"" in Caucasian... finding an Indian spot that makes us both happy as not happened in the last 5 years, until last night. We left so stuffed we could barley drive :D
If you knew us you would understand that, that is really saying something. I'm picky and he is a real foodie.
Give them a try. The prices are decent the food is to die for. They have taken to adding a slight American twist to the traditional Indian fare ( if you want it) which for us was sublime.
*I will say to pass on the tamarind sauce it was a little on the vinegary side. That was the only thing that we did not eat. Pfft we even ended up fighting over the Rita, and I hate Rita... LOL.
