Several years ago we moved into a small'ish ranch that needed some insulation in the attic. Last Fall we hired Bogg's to blow in insulation. This Summer we noticed that the air conditioner ran a lot more than it did in previous Summers and we noticed some shingles bulging. My roofer said it was damage from heat due to insufficient ventilation. I find the coincidence of Bogg's work, higher air conditioning load, and heat damage to shingles to be related. Bogg's said it was a design issue. While that may be true, they didn't install any baffles to prevent the new insulation from blocking ventilation in the attic. It appears as though they did block some, but not all of the ventilation along the eaves of the roof. Now I have better insulation, but worse ventilation. This is not what I paid them to do. I wish I would have hired someone else.
