Sorry to have to say that my experience mirrors that of previous reviewer Robert R. It seems that Vitte's is having a difficult time adjusting to the new reality of internet shopping and quick and reliable service. I bought a desk and a bookcase, which had to be ordered, and paid a $40 delivery fee (live 1 mile away, but oh well). Later I found the desk for $100 less online and free shipping. I did not expect Vitte's to match the price but asked if they would consider some accommmodation, such as waiving the delivery charge. The store clerk (owner?) became hostile, railing about the internet, etc. I cancelled the desk but she refused to cancel the bookcase without a 25% charge because this stock item was supposedly a ""special order."" When I called to arrange delivery of the bookcase she said they only deliver on Saturdays, which doesn't work for me (condo prohibits Sat. delivery) - said for an add'l $20 she might be able to find someone to deliver it on a weekday. Then said there was a ""death in the family"" and no one could be available to deliver it for another week. I finally rented a U-Haul for $20 and picked it up myself. This isn't 21st century service. Many other family-owned businesses have adapted quite well to the internet age (like Rollier's). Vitte's needs to or it won't survive. more
