Sorry to say ,the good times are gone. I was so impressed when Maki Yaki moved into a restaurant size location and became more than just a take out place.The food was great and the staff was very friendly. Now recently with new owners,the portion sizes are miniature although the prices remain the same.I had a sashimi salad that had about 1 ounce of shredded fish.My son's Shushi combo looked like an appetizer. Normally I have to take 1/2 of my salad home.Tonight after spending more that $50.00,I had to go home and cook a piece of salmon because I was so hungry an hour later. Although the female servers were polite,the friendly atmosphere was not there and neither of the 2 Sous Chefs even acklowledged us as we sat at the sushi bar. Gladly Shark Sushi and Haru Haru are still great places to go in Brea!
