I went to Five different shops for opinions. My ford explorer was doing goofy stuff like engaging in 4+4 by its self. Took it to three shops that wanted me to buy a transfer case for almost two thousand dollars. One shop wanted 149.00 to check it out. I should have gone to austin first. I dropped it off and two hours later they called and said to pick it up. I asked what do you mean. He said its done and fixed. He found a wire that had rubbed on a heat shield and frayed. He fixed it and said about 75.00 should cover it. I said wow no problem!!! Its been working no problems at all for about a month now. Go see them first and save the running around and crap answers from some other shops.
