I'm a member of GiltCity and came across speedladating -- thought is sounded cool and different than typical 'speed dating' events. My hours at work are crazy and I kept having to reschedule my event with the office. When I called they were very sweet and when I e-mailed I always got a response within minutes. I finally got a schedule that didn't change last minute, a cute outfit - also from Gilt :-) and went to STK in West Hollywood. What a place!!! I'd seen it in mags and had always wanted to try it so it was perfect. Both the restaurant and event was packed. The hosts checked me in -- offered some plates while we wait -- and really made me feel comfortable. I have a friend who went 'speed dating' but nothing like this. The event started a little late which I didn't really mind as I got to hover around the dishes and cater to my inner foodie. There were a few groups of girls, all very nice and I almost enjoyed talking to them as I did the men! Before I knew it the night was over. The staff and daters are just my style. Cool, easy to talk to and just plain nice.
