Bath Township police were called to a loud party at about 1:10 a.m. at the Crossing Place Apartments at 3636 Coleman Road. As officers arrived, people flagged them down and said their friend had been shot at a party inside the apartment. The 18-year-old victim was taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing for non-life-threatening injuries, police said. Police said they believe the suspect left before they arrived, and they’re following up on information from witnesses. It’s the second shooting at the apartment complex in recent months. Adrian House, 20, of Detroit, was killed in a Dec. 11 shooting at the complex. East Lansing and Bath Township police are continuing to investigate that case. Erica Price, 18, who lives in the complex, said she was in the complex when both shootings occurred. Saturday’s incident happened on the first floor of her building, she said. “We’re all trying to get out of our leases,” she said, referring to her roommates. “Our parents don’t want us living here.” Anyone with information on either case is urged to contact Bath Township police at 641-6271 or East Lansing police at 337-2599 or the toll-free tip line (877) 357-3847 (ELPD TIP). more
