Good workmanship, bad price, not up-front. I hired Trevor on a time and materials basis (big mistake). I was pretty surprised when he presented his bill with an hourly rate of $115. I was even more surprised when he told me this was the least a plumber could charge in Washington. He referred me to prevailing wage rate tables even though he is non-union. I imagine he tries this with a lot of his customers.
He also charged me for everything down to $2 for pipe dope. I'm surprised he didn't charge me for the batteries in his flashlight.
