At least they put thier lies in writing... 9/14/2010

Tues, 9/14/10- 1pm \r The only reason I gave it one star is bc a star was required. I wouIdve prefered to give NO stars.\r saved up $17,000 and decided it was time to go buy a used -but awesome- minivan. The only awesome minvan I could find was the Honda Odessy, and select years at that bc some years have big trasmission problems. It is possible to find a somehat new Odessy for that price so long as your willing to search search search and then buy it quick bc they go FAST.\r I found a 2006 (one of the good years) at this place. And even though it was an hour and a half away I wanted to buy it bc its hard to find one- peole love thier Hondas. I did most my negotiating and questioning over the phone and thru text messages. My salesman- Victor- brought the price down a little for me and after I put a $1000 deposit down (agn, over the phone) he told me to bring a certified check for $15,554 made out to EMG. I asked several questions (in texts bc he gave me his mobile)...one of which was ""was it serviced for the 100,000 miles"" (bc yes it had almost a 100,000 miles on it but Hondas really do last forever if you treat them right). He said YES. So I found a ride and headed up there. \r Like I said it was an hour and a half away- so the person who drove me there couldn't wait around for me. Well TWO HOURS AFTER I GOT THERE (can you believe they made me wait 2 hours knowing I was paying cash!) Victor tells me my certified check is short some $700+!!! THANK GOD I had the text to say no victor- heres the exact amount you told me! For another 40 minutes he went back and forth between me and his manager trying to explain to me why I should have to pay the money even though he made a mistake. I said doesn't matter... I'm here now and I have noway home and you put it in writing. I won that battle and drove off in my minivan which I totally fell in love with on the way home.(its got ALL the bells n whistels!).\r BUT GUESS WHAT HAPPENS 2 DAYS LATER FOLKS! The check engine light came on. I texted Victor and he tells me to bring it in... I say no way Im 60 miles away - can I just take it to a Honda dealership he says sure. Honda can't take me for 5 days...so I go to autozone and have them run the diagnostics for free. Turns out cylinders 1, 4, 5, and 6 are misfiring. I ask Victor to speak w the mechanic and ask if its safe to drive that way. He tells me the mechanic said it may need a tune-up. ? A TUNE-UP!!! He straight up lied ot me when he said ""yes it was serviced"" when I asked about the 100,000 mile service. Now I'm taking the van to Honda tommorow and I asked Victor if EMG would absorb any costs I may incur since I am still under warranty... he tells me the warranty if for engine trans n power train only. I said to him ""that may be but you told me it was serviced for the 100,000 miles and that I never would have spent $17000 on a car that didn't even have a tune-up. He didn't get back to me... so I texted him a few hours later and said ""if you don't text me back is that just your way of telling me ""tough crap if I lied...u already paid in full for the van so its ur problem now"" and I still haven't heard from him. I will update this (and every other review I write) if anything else chenges AND after Honda checks the whole thing out. more
