I was buying gifts for friends last month on my semi-annual shopping trip to Palm Springs. I am an interior designer for a hotel chain and was charmed by the hand made creams and lotions in this boutique shop. I was speaking with the salesman and he kept giving me a strange look. When I asked him what was wrong, he told me I didn't look like anyone particularly important. Since it was 108 degrees and I was in shorts and tee shirt, I suppose I didn't, so I simply went down the street to another shop who were very gracious and kind and bought 2 bags full of gifts from them instead! Oh well.
