HORRIBLE management, customer service and coordination! Think twice before booking a party with Villa Nova! We had booked a party (25-50 people) a week in advance ( a 50th birthday party), but upon arrival we were told that it was not penciled in ( the lady had forgotten). Also on the phone we were told that there was no charge, which we were then informed it would be $200 to rent the room unless the tab for the party reached $400. The person in charge ( George) was very unprofessional and rude with a bad attitude about the misunderstanding. He stated "" I don't care if the tab is $399, I will charge you the $200 rental fee!"" ( Last time I checked good customer service will get you better business, which by the looks of the place and the 3-4 people that were not part of our party, they NEED the business!) After we trusted to not ""keep tabs"" of our own, we were told that $400 mark was not achieved. There was no itemized records showing over $200 in food, let alone the numbers amount of alcoholic beverages served. Because there were only 2 servers staffed, a lot of people walked into the empty bar to get drinks from the bartender. George told us that those drinks don't count because they left the rented room ( less then 10 ft away). The problem is, not only did we have to deal with George's lack of professionalism, we had to pay for a room on top of the aprox $600+ spent in food and drinks! ( Now I can see why the place is so dead!) Going back to before the party had started, George's attitude was ""I've been in this business 25 years and if you don't like the way I run things we can call this off right now!"". Oh how I would have loved to contact the 50 people invited to tell them to re-route, but again it was a 50th birthday planned a week in advance. He made us feel so uncomfortable even when we complied with everything he had wanted! He was unfair to charge for a room when he chose not to count the money spent at the bar. If there were more staff available to take drink orders we would not have run into the problem, but since the place was dead we ordered in the bar. The bartender knew we were from the same party and if the money wasn't going to "" count"" we should have been warned ahead of time to not leave the room. The way things were handled was completely UNACCEPTABLE and Villa Nova will be getting no business from friends or family ever again. I can only hope to warn any of those planning a party, so your night does not end in the disaster ours did!
