After 18 years of smoking, it was time to quit. I had tried a number of times before, but the withdrawal symptoms were so bad they were palpable. I tried self-help books, nicotine patches, and nicotine gum. Nothing worked. I really didn?t want to start taking medication to deal with my addiction, so after I heard about a friend going to Clarice for her addiction to cigarettes, I thought ?why not?? The worst thing that could happen was that I was still a smoker.
