My friends and I were seeing a play at the theater and decided to eat at Kevin Taylor's before the play. When we got there we were amazed by the beautiful setting. We chatted with the host before we were seated and he was very kind.
When we were seated everything went downhill from there. The waitress was very rude, we waited for 20 min as we watched her talk to the bartender and another waitress before greeting us and taking drink orders. Throughout the meal I had to ask at least 3 times for her to refill mine or my friend's water glasses.
We did have a fantastic cheesecake dessert with fresh fruit that was especially tasty, but otherwise the food was average, and therefore disappointing considering how expensive everything was.
When it came time for the check, she immediately brought up the bill and told us that 20% gratuity was required. We told her the service was terrible and I would not be tipping as such. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said that gratuity was just suggested and not actually required.
Overall not a great experience, I would recommend only going for their cheesecake. The rest of the food is over priced and the staff are rude and pretentious.
