Update-- Visit on 11.12.10:
Came for lunch and the deal was even better today! They had much better selections this time around!
They had salmon and it was excellent! I loved it, it was the perfect consistency and tasted as good as the Chinese place!
I also really liked the ham! it tasted really good. It was a tad dry in some places, but that's how ham is. The texture was good and it barely had any fat on it!
I also had this cajun like mix of this steak like meat that had onions, sauce, and veggies it was great too.
They also had chopped steak and it was pretty good.
The server was doing a pretty good job and was pretty nice. Her name was Nicole. She was very prompt.
The reasons above was what made me improve the rating. Great going Ryan's.
Update: (11.03.10)
we went for lunch again and saved 4 bucks by not getting drinks for two people. total came to $11.65 not bad for two people.
I had my usual steak-n-shrooms-n-gravy on top of white rice and it was great. I also had some sausages but they were a little spicy but still were good.
The chicken was a little undercooked last time I ate there and it was much better this time. I had 4 chicken legs and they were really good. the texture was great and the taste was nice-n-juicy but not too greasy. It was actually better then the KFC I had 2 days ago! That's something!
The service was ok this time, kinda minimal staff interaction, she wasn't overly nice or anything but she was still pleasant. attentiveness was ok.
Went during lunch so the atmosphere was calm and nice.
------------------------------------------------------------------
We went to Ryan's for lunch and the price seemed to lure us in. it was 5.95+1.99 for drinks. compared to 9.95 for the dinner+1.99 for drinks.
A few of the items were good like the rice with the onion/mushroom/steak/gravy was extremely good. I loved it!
The chicken was very juicy and the texture was good, however it was very greasy and made me a little sick.
The ribs were ok tasting but took forever to chew. It was funny I had a half disco/half western sounding song playing and it made for good chewing music. It took me most of the song to chew my rib! LOL
The buffet for lunch could use more choices for main courses. I found most of the items to be side dishes and the only real main course items were those hard to chew ribs and the chicken. Both had difficulties with.
The price is a little steep for drinks. The cups were also smaller then most buffet type places.
The people were friendly and gave good service.
The atmosphere is ok, nothing too fancy, but it's generally comfortable feeling here. Plenty of seating and the layout is nice. Could use more buffet tables with more food!
