I had to use this facility after making a very tough decision for both me and my unborn child. Because of where I am in life, I chose to terminate my pregnancy. This was an extremely tough decision. From the start, Planned Parenthood, Greater Memphis Region, offered poor service. The operator that took my call was very inconsiderate, not personable, and really didn't provide much information needed when I asked questions. I need the procedure done quickly, and this was the only place near me that could get it done within the same week. I took the operator as an employee who does not like her job, and gave the facility another shot. \r

I had to give blood two days prior to the procedure, and all of the ladies that interacted with were very polite. The lady who took my blood was very considerate and gentle.\r

During the day of my procedure, Friday August, 13, I was extremely emotional. The same lady who took my blood two days prior was the only one to offer support and comfort. Everyone else were very rude. They weren't willing to answer questions and acted if I shouldn't have been crying. I find the entire process very disturbing. The 3 hour wait before the procedure is actually done is unneccesary. The is pure waiting too. The procedure itself took about 5 minutes and was very painful. The claim to give you medicine to make you relax and take away the pain, but it did not. The doctor who performed the procedure was very rough and I felt almost as if it was on purpose to ""teach me a lesson."" He was not compassionate. I had surgery on my foot weeks prior, and during the procedure that same foot came out of one of the stirrups. The doctor slammed my foot back down. I was in extreme pain, and he offered no comforting words during the process and neither did the nurse that was in the room. After it was completed, all the doctor said was ""it's over."" I really would have like for my boyfriend to have been in the recovery room with me, but that was not allowed. Instead, they let all somewhat sedated women walk themsleves to the waiting room. This is very unsafe and the medicine given does make one a little unstable. No one there seemed to care though. \r

This was very horrible experience for me in many ways, and I hope that all other Planned Parenthood facilities uphold the name better than this one did during my experience.
