If you're not high risk, you're best of going to a birthing center or a home birth and having yourself a nice little water birth. It's great! The water, the other tools, and the staff/doulas work for pain management. Take a Bradley class or hynobirth class to help with pain also.
This practice is not suited for normal births. One of my friends got a routine episiotomy there, is this 1950 for crying out loud?
They always induce if you go over your EDD.
40% of inductions lead to c/s, and of those that don't, they lead to fetal distress because epidurals slow down labor. One of my friends had to get forceps to get her baby out, the other one's baby had breathing problems and had to go to the NICU. This shouldn't be happening, women are designed by nature to deliver babies!
