I finally sent in a complaint to the BBB....\r
\r
I visited Luna Fitness over (February 2009?) a year ago and received a free one week trial membership. During the ONE time I went in, I began filling out a membership application. (name, address, etc). I explained to the staff that I might be moving that summer (2009) and may need to cancel if I joined, or may not join at all, depending upon how far away I moved. This is why I did not complete the enrollment form and did not provide billing information.\r
\r
I never returned to Luna.\r
I have never gotten a memebership card - because, of course, I never joined!\r
\r
Over the past year I have periodically received statements of an amount due from them. I e-mailed them several times explaining the above. My correspondances were ignored.\r
\r
They have turned me over to a collections agency called Merchants Interstate Collection Agency. 1-866-511-0765. I have a bill here for $734.06 for a gym I have never belonged to or used more than one time during a free trial period.\r
\r
This is criminal - really. I have a black mark on my credit report that will probably not go away, even when - or IF- this is ever corrected.\r
\r
I wish there was another women's only gym.
