We became owners of a puppy who as all pups are is very adventurous. One morning when I let her out, I turned my back for a moment and Abby had run out into the street. She got hit by a pick-up truck and she was able to crawl back to our yard. I called around a couple of places and finally decided to try Patterson's after hearing about them for years. As soon as we got there, they put us in a room away from the other animals to keep Abby calm. Dr. Gill did his initial assessment to make sure it wasn't life-threatening and then attended other patients. We waited for a very long time (2 hours) but I still say it was worth it. They had to put her to sleep to take an x-ray and told us she had a broken hip. We could spend the next few years worth of Christmas money to have surgery or we could try immobilization. We tried immobilization for about 2 months and Abby recovered. We took her back in for a follow-up x-ray and had to immobilize her a little longer. Abby hasn't been back in yet to find out if she is all the way healed but she has been her active self. I am so thankful that the total cost was about $140 and that they were available when we needed them. \r

When I noticed that Abby still appeared to be in pain after getting her home, I called and talked to Dr. Patterson to see if I could up her pain meds. He asked what she was taking, I told him, and he said yes. It was nice to be able to talk to the vet and not have to be placed on hold while the receptionist asked the vet. \r

If you take your pet in, be prepared to wait with several other pets and owners and be aware that not all animals can be sociable. I have to take another dog in and also take Abby in to get spayed/neutered and am looking forward to another positive experience with Patterson.
