I have been going to this practice for many years, starting with a broken ankle when I didn't have enough money to pay an ER bill, and they helped me. Dr. Flaherty has treated me kindly for years and I truly believe he loses money every time I walk in the door, because I have multiple serious medical issues and none of them make for particularly quick discussions. It's true that walk-in wait times are long, as are wait times when I have an appointment, but I am truly appreciative that there is a place where you can walk in and be treated with dignity when you don't have insurance. The staff here has always responded promptly to my phone calls and done their best to go through the hurdles to help me get what I need, whether it's a test, a procedure, referral to a specialist, or help with a prescription. If it wasn't for Dr. Flaherty I know my quality of life would be a lot less than it is right now. I do suggest if you go to this practice to choose a physician and keep requesting that physician so that you have continuity of care. I've seen three different physicians in this practice at various times, and dealt with a fourth over the phone in an urgent situation, and they were all wonderful. But I think that in general, quality of care is better if you have a regular provider for primary care. This practice does a lot of good in a community where specialty care is all but denied to those who lack insurance and money. My experience is, they stick their necks out for their patients. I have recommended them often and continue to do so.
