This place is hard to pigeonhole. It's in a cinder block building that has been various bars/ice houses, so it isn't fancy.
Check their website for daily lunch specials. I've had the meatloaf, Shiner Bock-braised pot roast, salmon croquettes, and fried chicken. I recommend them all.
Go back in the evening and try the duck, rabbit, or Second Place Chicken. I haven't had the New York Strip, but I've heard it's excellent.
Sit at the bar and watch the kitchen staff laugh and fight, or in the dining room for a quiet dinner.
