After seeing a picture of the restaurant in a local review book, my wife and I decided to give Augustine Grill a try. The experience from beginning to end couldn't have been more of a disappointment. The wine list is a bizarre combination of extremely overpriced bottles considering the quality of what is offered. My wife got the signature Augustine Medallions entrée which features a couple of what looked like cast off carne asida chunks (advertised as medium-rare filet) that were overcooked to the point where they resembled leather. When we pointed this out to the waitress we were informed that that is how chewy it is supposed to be. My order of pasta rags did not taste anything like “fresh made” pasta the menu advertised but were extremely bland and overcooked. The service was poor and inattentive, our two course meal taking 2 hours to get through with no apology or recognition of the extremely slow food preparation. Will not ever go back.
