I setup an appointment on their website for 4pm and when I stopped by they took my car in at the time I had reserved, and the repair took only a couple of minutes longer than the lady at the counter told me.
The place was super busy, and from reading the other comments it made sense the waiting times would be long if you just walked in.
When you don't have to time to idle, the smart thing is to call ahead or make an appointment online. If you didn't, you have no right to complain that the Firestone, Goodyear, AAA, Walmart car care, wherever, is making you wait because you decided to walk in out of the blue.
