I bought a very expensive pair of glasses in Santa Monica three or four years ago. Over time, the frames got out of whack. They were not sitting right on my nose, they kept slipping, the screws would not tighten any more. My very pricey glasses had turned into a total mess that bugged me every day.
I took them into Gabes. He took one look at them, told me about four things that were wrong with them, and then took five minutes to make them as good as new. I am not sure what he did to them, but they feel exactly the way they did on the day that I first got them. This guy really knows his stuff. His prices are very reasonable too.
