I was excited to use a corporate cleaning service after having some issues with private people. The management team assured me they had a working process and would provide excellent service.
After speaking with Sue, and explaining that I had been taken advantage of in the past with cleaning services, I agreed to sign on with merry maids to receive a corporate level of service. I was very impressed after the first visit. On the following 2 visits, I found the work to be below average. I would leave the team members in my home and run errands during the hour they were working. On my service date of 6/8, I returned after 50 minutes and they were gone. I called Maria in the office and was told to mail the check since they were not there for me to give it to them. On 6/22, I left the check and went out to run errands. When I returned the work was again not complete and below the expectations that were set. I felt as though the service team was leaving early and doing partial work as I keep my apartment pretty clean. I was looking to Merry Maids to help with the details - blinds, floors, refridgerator, etc., as I discussed with Sue during my consultation.
To ensure I was receiving the full hour of service, I decided that I would stay home for my cleaning (7/6). On this day we were experiencing a heat wave, so as usual, I insisted the service team take as much water, ice tea, etc. from my refridgerator. Since they were working in the heat, I decided to give them a tip and hoped that would encourage more detail in my cleaning services. I left the apartment to go to the bank to get cash for their tip. I am sure the service team assumed I was leaving for the full hour, as usual, and they left my apartment after 20 minutes. They arrived at 9:05, I helped them carry in their supplies and when I returned home at 9:30am, they were gone. The apartment was not cleaned. To note a few of the things that were not cleaned:
- Refridgerator outside/inside
- Kitchen backsplash
- Blinds
- Sides of bathtub
- Bathroom floor
- Tile on the bathroom walls
- Tile in the shower
- Dinning room floor
- Dust on bookshelves, TV stand
- Dust on all bedroom furniture
- Dust under bed
- Dust on all lamps and picture frames
I would assume they ran a vaccum for 5 minutes through the apartment and wiped down the kitchen counter. I called Maria at 9:35am to express my concern and she agreed this was unacceptable. She offered to send another team of people to the apartment, which is not an option for me. Their employees are not managed appropriately and/or screened. Whoever the ""team leader"" was I do not know, but I do know that the set up they have is broken.
To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. I am SO UPSET that I had their employees in my home and was taken advantage of throughout my service with Merry Maids. I gave them the benefit of the doubt only to find that they were truley robbing me for a check and providing little to no service. I will no longer be participating in a service with Merry Maids and would discourage anyone from using this service.
