We had to send my brother, Steven, to Country Estates for hospice care. He was only 44, but was stricken with Cancer. He had been treated for 16 months and nothing worked. We reseached many facilities before choosing this one. We were told he had between 2 weeks and two months to live. He arrived on tuesday and passed 5 days later. I have to say I was disappointed with the facility. They were not very supportive. The communication was poor. I would have thought they would have keep us posted on his condition. Telling us what was happening to him and what was yet to come. None of this happened. His last day of life they barely came into his room @ all except to read his pump. Twice they brought us a tray of cookies and coffee. When he passed I had to go out into the hall and search for a nurse to come in an pronounce him.\r
This was not what I thought hospice care was all about. I expected a lot more support and communication.\r
Over all I was disappointed with his care and ours.
Pros: not supportive
