After researching who this unsatisfied customer is and because she chose to remain unidentified with her comment we were left to try and identify the particulars of her job. Because we strive for excellence in our work and service, we are very aware of problems that come up because they are far and few between.
To answer these allegations I would like to take each point she has brought up individually. First, ""The owner and his colleague did not fulfill my order as it was documented."" I did make a decision to alter the font to make it more readable, the customer wanted 3 lines of text (about three times the amount of engraving in 9 out of 10 rings I engrave) so the more you put in such a small area the harder it becomes to read. To my knowledge, no one in middle Tenn. is able to do that much engraving on the inside of a ring. It was a decision I made based on 13 years of engraving experience. It is very rare that I engrave this much inside a ring. I was so proud of this engraving that I took a picture for our future web site. (click here to see picture)
Second, ""a request to retain existing engraving on my ring was ignored and he actually buffed it out and charged me for it when I asked him not to do it."" I engrave all the rings here personally and there is no way I would have buffed out something a customer would want to keep that was already engraved, I would have simply told them that I could not engrave the ring around an existing engraving. This customer was upset because I charged her $5 to buff out a manufacturers mark to make room for the large amount of engraving that she wanted.
Third, ""They couldn't even deliver on time...I showed up expecting my engraving to be done and they told me to come back in a couple of days."" Everyone is told at the time of purchase that we will call as soon as their item is ready for pick-up to prevent undue trips to the store. We purposely do not give a specific time of the day for completion. For those meeting hard deadlines for their engraved items, we either promise to deliver the time they need it or we turn down the work. For all others, our normal turnaround is the next day, a lot of times we get it done the same day.
