Not a bad place 7/19/2010

Quadalupe Best RV Park, on South Access Road in Canyon Lake, TX, in my opinion, is not a bad place. It is just a ""bare bones"" campground with only the minimum basics. They do provide hook-ups with water, electricity, and sewer. The interior roads are shell, and the campsites are grass, gravel, and dirt. The campground is located right by the Canyon Lake Dam, and that's where the on-site bar gets its name, ""Dam Red Barn"". Overlook Park nearby was a very pleasant place to sit and watch the boaters on the lake and the sunsets. There is a Catholic Church directly across the street, up the hill. The campground was not crowded when we first arrived, but more campers came and got settled in by the weekend. There were lots of tenters who set up there and probably about 7 or 8 homesteaders on site. The bath house was small and really for one or two people at a time, but the entire campground is small, with only 3 rows of sites listed by letters of the alphabet. Most sites have a tree or 2 and all have a picnic table handy. We were there in a fifth wheel and had plenty of room in a pull-through site. The Dam Red Barn clientelle were fairly quiet, even on Friday and Saturday nights in hot, humid July. Overall, it was a sorta good place, in a good location near the Quadalupe River activities, and a decent value. If you just want a place to set up camp and sleep, this is it. No frills. Pros: trees, sewer connections, price Cons: bare bones place, no Wi-Fi or cable, small bath house more
