We adopted our son in 2005 using Lifetime as an adoption facilitator. The entire process, start to finish, took exactly 9 months (go figure), but it was the most intense 9 months of my life! However, we did do nearly everything ourselves, just like the previous review said -- he was right on the money. Fortunately, I have a creative background, so our profiles and letter turned out nicely. You do your profile yourself, it does cost $1000+ to produce 50 copies, and it took them more than a month (clock ticking on our contract) and some anguished phone calls to get our profile up on their website. You deal with the birth families and lawyers yourself too. I don't think my son's birth mother got much support from them afterward, either. They were there for us by long distance phone in the crutch, however, when my son's birthmother was waffling a bit at his hospital release 4 days after his birth (we stayed respectfully clear and prayed for grace, whatever the final outcome). However, the end results were a beautiful, healthy, baby our our dreams. And, we'll probably use them again, caveat emptor.
Pros: We adopted a beautiful, healthy boy in 9 months
Cons: You're pretty much on your own
