I took my staff to the Mad Platter shortly before Christmas, touting it as a great place to eat. I was sadly disappointed. The first thing you see is a board stating the specials of the day--and a copy of the specials placed at each table. We were seated and had begun to decide what we wanted--usually the specials of the day are the best things on the menu. We ordered our drinks, got them and then our server came to out table to get our food order. Not ONE of the specials was available, we were left with the regular menu selections, which were mediocre at best. We really wanted to get up and leave, but had already gotten our drinks. This same thing happened to a friend of mine. My suggestion is BEFORE you get all cozy at your table with your drinks in hand, make sure they have the food they are advertising. On my own, it would have been no big deal, but with my staff there, it was very disappointing and made me look bad for suggesting the Mad Platter. AND if you have ever been there, the prices are not exactly low. So I ended up blowing most of my annual budget for taking them out for lunch on mediocre food. Don't think I will be back...
Pros: Usually good food
Cons: Check the specials before you are seated
