Winters Title Agency

Closing 7/27/2010

When I showed up for the closing on the house that my husband and I built together I was told that my husband was the sole name listed on the title and that he was to receive the full payment even though he had filed for divorce with a property settlement that agreed to share the proceeds of the sale equally. Winters did not want to hear any of it and our two real estate agents said they were not allowed to tell me prior to the closing that he was going to do this. They knew that the only reason I agreed to sell was because of our property settlement agreement. Now I have to sue for breach of contract and fraud and I believe it was unethical not to be informed. My husband lied to them about the property settlement and they did not want to see the paperwork. His name was on the title because he signed the property purchase three months before we married even though we took out a mortage and paid it off prior to building and after we were married. I guess we all have to be lawyers and obviously can't trust anybody. Pros: none Cons: suspected fraud more
