I agree with the review wholeheartedly except for the 2 stars. I realize 4 stars are hard to get, but so is an overall dining experience like this. You don't get great views and country-ambience plus perfect sweetbreads (as the review notes, they were just right) in many places, even in France. As a former fan of Gerard's Place, my hopes were high, and they were met completely, even though Gerard is only the "sensai" here. Don't bypass the desserts, as many often do. They were phenomenal -- not only the mango tarte tatin, but the fresh strawberries in a creme fraiche/mild cheese concoction. Gerard has managed to bring 2 star Michelin skill and flair to a bucolic setting at reasonable prices. Do yourself a favor -- go and enjoy.
