Take it from someone who works there; if you feel like the staff is being rude, it's because they're stretched so thin that they can't handle another task and they're not even being paid enough to buy something to eat in their 30 minute lunch in the breakroom that doesn't have air conditioning. When sales are deemed "low" for a store, that store's weekly hours are cut, and thus fewer employees are left with the same amount of responsibilities that were intended for more workers. No raise, no reward, just complaints from managers and customers alike. It's hard to be too concerned about helping a customer with a purchase that amounts to more money than the employee makes for an 8 hour day, especially when helping that customer means you're going to get behind on your tasks for that day and as a consequence probably won't get any hours the next week.\r
