My mother lived at Manoa Cottage for the last 6 years of her life. They let her realize her dream of staying in Hawaii until her passing. I live on the Mainland and was a welcome part of their community any time I would visit. I would usually arrive without notice. My mother was always clean, happy and being cared for. It is not the "sterile" hospital environment where people are doing a job...it is a family that is caring for loved ones in a genuine, heartfelt way.The level of care she recieved was beyond any "nursing home" on the mainland. She belonged to a family that cared for her and surrounded her with love on last day.
