My former roommate and I rented an Evans Realty property our freshman year of college. When we received our keys and entered the apartment for the first time, it was filthy. There was hair all over the counters, spilled & rotten food in the fridge, disgusting carpet, and furniture piled up in the middle of the living room floor. It was obvious the place had never been cleaned after previous tenants moved out. We immediately went to the onsite manager who reimbursed us about $30. It was NEVER cleaned...we had to completely clean the entire place ourselves. When I say it was filthy, I can't even begin to describe the level of filth! It was unlivable. We were disgusted. Needless to say, we moved out a year later as soon as our lease was up. Despite the condition we found the apartment, being the ethical people we are, we left the unit SPOTLESSLY clean.
