Move to the neighborhood a couple of months ago from East Coast. While taking gas a month or so ago I saw across the street tiny reddish restaurant. They call themselves Hanks and they have been in Playa del Rey for over 40 years now. Longer than I have lived?. Anyway they have great variety of foods: lover their pizza (deluxe and pesto are my favorites), I am huge fan of their calzone and pastrami sub with cheese. Last time I tried margarita pizza on wheat dough. It was great!!!! The wheat dough does not rise like a regular one but I am fan of the thin crust so I loved it. And of course the large pizza with a couple of topping comes with fresh garden salad. I take it with Italian dressing but they have other choices too. Be aware though. Place is tiny so better order for pick up or delivery.
