Watch Vendor Opportunist 6/3/2010

I have a Swiss watch that has a built-in led flashlight. The watch has a separate battery for the timing mechanism and the flashlight. I had them send it to their watch repair vendor because they can compress the watch to maintain the waterproof integrity of the watch. They wrote up the work order as “watch broken” however the watch was keeping perfect time and only needed a new battery for the led flashlight.\r A week later I received a telephone call that the repair vendor said the watch needed a total timepiece overhaul. I told the store representative that the watch was keeping perfect time and only needed the one battery; however I opted to have both replaced. So here a vendor somewhere gets a watch that appears to be keeping perfect time and decides to make an opportunity for some easy money. The store representative said they would look into it and give a return call. Two weeks passed and no call, even after I called back after the first week and again was promised a return call. Finally, I called and requested my watch be returned and today I picked it up. It is still keeping perfect time and the store still doesn’t have any knowledge of what happened with the quote of $160 to fix a perfect time keeping watch.\r Run like the wind future newlyweds-this is not the way you want to start your married lives.\r Pros: Oops Shouldn't Have Scammed That One!!! Cons: No follow up-two steps below a pawn shop more
