From the moment we walked in, the salesman (Philip) struck the perfect balance between being offering advice and leaving us alone. He was extremely knowledgeable, answered all our questions, volunteered some important information we didn't think to ask about, but was never remotely pushy. He encouraged us to feel at home and take as long as we needed.
In the end, we bought a mattress we decided we were unhappy with (no fault of Metro Mattress!). All of our friends told us that when it comes to returns, all mattress stores will put up a fight. They were wrong. Philip was completely cheerful, encouraged us to take our time and get it right this time, and repeated his amazing performance of somehow always being available and never being in our way.
Philip was definitely in a position to take advantage of us, because we were now shopping with store credit, so there was essentially no reason for him to give us any bargains. Nevertheless, he took several hundred dollars off the mattress we chose so that we'd have an even exchange. In other words, we fully expected our change of mind to cost us a bundle, but it cost us virtually nothing. And to top it off, he arranged for the new mattress to be delivered (and the old one collected) the very next day, which was a Sunday (!).
I'd recommend this place (and Philip in particular) to anyone.
