I recently moved to this area of Maryland, so my boyfriend and I were excited to find new places to eat out. We had heard good things about this establishment, so we checked it out. The food itself was pretty good, except I felt my chicken franchaise was a little too heavy and greasy. The part that really got me going was the treatment we received when I tried to order a beer. At the time, I had flown in from out of town for house/apartment searching, and I only ever travel with my passport unless I plan on renting a car. The waiter was hesitant to accept my valid passport, which shows me to be 25 years old, and so I requested the manager make the decision. The waiter called over someone I assume was the manager, who took a look at my passport, made a face, and said ""What is it?"" I calmly and politely told her it was my passport, a federally issued identification card that is valid for use in personal identification. She responded that she didn't know what that was, and in any case they only accept driver's licenses. It is within an establishment's rights to refuse liquor sales to whomever they wish, but I was shocked by their ignorance and inflexibility. What's worse is that the waiter was very apologetic, but from that moment on appeared to be too embarrassed to do his job, and failed to refill our water and soda or check by our table even once the entire meal. When we were obviously finished, instead of coming by to ask if we wanted dessert or the check he avoided our table like the plague. He would rush by to assist other customers, ignoring our attempts at eye contact or our audible ""sir, excuse me""s. We waited approximately 20 minutes before he finally came by, plopping the check on our table unprofessionally. I was saddened by their ignorance and inability to handle the situation with grace, especially since I really did love their homemade fresh mozzarella sticks!
Pros: decent atmosphere, decent food
Cons: terrible experience with wait staff.
