My basement drain clogged up on Saturday during a very torrential rain storm and more bad weather was on its way. My basement had two inches of water on the floor and rising. Myself and three neighbors were manning shop vacs to remove the water but it was futile. I called my usual plumber, Knochelman Plumbing, was put on hold for 3-5 minutes, told a clueless receptionist that my basement was flooding and I needed a plumber ASAP and was told they could be there on Tuesday. I hung up and called Roto-rooter. The receptionist immediately understood the urgency and said someone would be there within two hours. We bailed the water until their technician Aaron (#1508) got here and within 15 minutes had the drain cleared and the water gone.
