DO NOT SHOP HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!\r
It's a saga, but in a nutshell:\r
\r
- The order took twice as long as promised (six weeks), and despite being told by Dinette Gallery that nothing could be done to expedite, I called the manufacturer after three weeks and was told that the order was sitting in their warehouse and hadn't shipped because Dinette Gallery hadn't paid for it (even though I paid in full by credit card when ordering).\r
\r
- Shipment arrived in seven boxes with extensive assembly required. Cast iron table frame holes were not close to lining up with legs/table bottom and would not go together despite hours of effort (I have built tons of these types of kits before -- this one is the only one I have ever failed to assemble). I called Dinette Gallery and sent pictures as instructed, no response for several days. Called again, re-sent the pictures and was told they would contact the factory. They could not give me any estimate of how long replacement parts would take.\r
\r
-Tried to assemble a stool, the feet would not sit flat on the floor, swivel seat grinded severely; Dinette Gallery was unable to help -- I was told to send pictures and try to assemble all other pieces.\r
\r
- Since returns must be in original packaging and getting these pieces back into boxes would be very difficult, I decided to return the order, particularly since both of the two opened boxes contained shoddy, defective merchandise.\r
\r
- So here's the return policy: customer must pay freight both ways and a 10% restocking fee, even though Dinette Gallery acknowledge defective materials -- they want me to pay over $750 to return a $1500 defective order.\r
\r
So I'm disputing this with my credit card and hoping for the best, but would love to save others from this nightmare. \r
